Quest Assignment

Quest Assignment A New Systemic Role William Oh accepts Establishing Quest: Break the Supply Lines and receives the Scout/Infiltrator role. The System formalizes his identity as a specialist rather than a conventional fighter. A Temporary Army New Climbers gather under Nathan, including Reggie, Mason Lanover, June, and Loth. The quest becomes Will’s first experience with a larger operational structure. The Central Objective The group must locate Kaith supply routes without being swallowed by the swarm. Success requires information, restraint, and coordination.

Cavern Reconnaissance

Cavern Reconnaissance Mapping the Darkness William Oh and Loth explore The Kaith Cavern System, marking branches with glowbugs and symbols. Their progress depends on remembering the route rather than simply advancing. A Hidden Bridge They find The Kaith Bridge carrying corpses and supplies toward the Kaith front. The discovery confirms that the quest target is an active logistical artery. The Decision to Withdraw Rather than attack immediately, the group chooses to return for Nathan. Reconnaissance becomes a success because they resist the temptation to claim glory prematurely.

The Kaith Ambush

The Kaith Ambush Enemies from Below Kaith climb the cavern walls and attack the scouting party before it can withdraw. Their swarm tactics erase the advantage of narrow terrain. Improvised Defense Loth releases insects while Will uses the cliff face, the Tomahawk of the Serpent, and his own mobility to block the Kaith advance. The group survives by layering small advantages. A Broken Formation The rope route becomes their only escape. When Will is stung and falls, the others are forced to choose between rescue and survival.

The Chasm Fall

The Chasm Fall Paralysis and Capture Kaith carry William Oh across the cavern ceiling while venom immobilizes him. His companions believe he is dead and retreat. The Phantom Solution Will separates Phantom Hand from his wrist, stores the Sting Ring, and fires acid into the creature’s feet. The Ability becomes a remote survival tool rather than a substitute limb. A Controlled Plunge He sends both himself and the Kaith into the chasm, choosing an uncertain fall over certain consumption. The decision exposes him to a deeper ecosystem beneath the quest area.

Quest Recognition

Quest Recognition A Survivor’s Return William Oh emerges through a buried passage carrying evidence about the Kaith routes. His appearance in camp contradicts the assumption that he died. The MVP Reversal Loth is recognized as critical to Quest Success after defending the camp with traps. Will’s contribution is exceptional, but the Party’s success is explicitly collective. A New Reputation The quest establishes Will and Loth as a team worth watching. Their reputation begins attracting allies, rivals, and people who want to profit from their methods.
